The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles announced this afternoon that it will close its license branch in Syracuse at the end of business Saturday, July 30. The Syracuse branch is one of six around the state that will close that day. After public hearings on branch closings, the B-M-V has decided to keep two branches open -- one in Versailles and one in Walkerton. B-M-V Commissioner Joel Silverman says the Bureau is closing branches to free up money for improvements at remaining branches. He says the B-M-V will invest in a computer system upgrade, a better training program for employees and other improvements. Silverman says the Bureau's goal is to reduce wait times at all branches to 20 minutes. For more information,
