Terror Threat Increase Affects Indiana
The federal government has raised the terrorism threat level on all U.S. commuter trains, including the South Shore Railroad that connects South Bend to Chicago. Q101 spoke with Eric Dietz, Executive Director of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
Hear three excerpts from our interview with Dietz, in which he talks about how South Shore riders should expect to see more police officers today, the fact that no specific threat has been made and how citizens can help keep Indiana secure by noticing and reporting anything suspicious. Dietz tells Q101 that although some Indiana cities have public bus service, officials have determined that the busses do not require additional security measures at this time.
