Warsaw Superintendent Resigns
Warsaw Community Schools Superintendent David McGuire resigned last night. At a spcial meeting of the school board, Board President Ron Yeiter read a statement that McGuire’s attorney had approved. In part, the statement read, “Much progress was made during Dr. McGuire’s service to the children of Warsaw Community Schools. It is apparent the board and Dr. McGuire, however, that it is time for a change in leadership for the schools.” McGuire will keep his pay, retirement and insurance benefits and work as an advisor to the school system until January 13th or until he finds another job. For the past few weeks, Yeiter and school system attorney Rex Reed had been conducting an investigation into whether there was cause to terminate McGuire’s contract. Board members say the confidentiality of personnel records prohibited them from saying why they started the investigation.
