Wabash Jail Trusty Collapses, Dies

Wabash County Sheriff Leroy Striker announced this morning that Wabash City Police are investigating the death of a Wabash County Jail inmate. According to a news release, 42-year-old Wabash resident Lynn Brauneller collapsed on a sidewalk outside the Wabash County Courthouse late Monday evening. Brauneller was a jail trusty who was allowed out of the jail to carry cardboard to recycling bins in the courthouse parking lot. A witness saw Brauneller collapse and notified emergency personnel. Wabash Police officers administered CPR until paramedics arrived. Brauneller was pronounced dead about 25 minutes later at Wabash County. An autopsy was scheduled to take place today.
