State Lawmaker Requests Gasoline Price Probe

If you wonder whether oil companies are gouging consumers with high gasoline prices, you’re not alone. Indiana House Minority Leader Patrick Bauer of South Bend has asked Attorney General Steve Carter to find out whether illegal price gouging is going on. Bauer says complaints from constituents prompted the request, along with reports that oil company profits are up more than 30 percent from a year ago.
