State Reports First Case of West Nile Disease

Indiana health officials have reported this year’s first human case of West Nile virus. They say a resident of Jackson County in southern Indiana has contracted the disease. West Nile virus is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes that have first been bitten by infected birds.
