Gas Leak Forces Evacuation in Columbia City

Columbia City officials evacuated an area including 12 homes yesterday, after city workers struck a natural gas line. It happened at about 1:30 p.m. while city workers were burying a water main on Walnut Street. NIPSCO workers had the gas main repaired by four o’clock.
