Investigators: Children Might Have Started Business Fire

Investigators say children playing with fireworks might have started a fire that heavily damaged a Warsaw business yesterday. According to a report from the Warsaw Fire Department, firefighters from five departments fought the fire at an eyeglass shop on Dubois Drive for more than two hours. The first unit to arrive at about 3:30 p.m. found flames spreading from some bushes up an exterior wall to the attic. Everyone inside the building got out OK and no one was injured. Witnesses told investigators they saw children in the area prior to the fire and heard what sounded like fireworks exploding. The fire remains under investigation this morning.
