KCSD Deputy Injured in Squad Car Crash

State police say a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy suffered head injury yesterday in a crash that happened while he was responding to an emergency call. At last report, 38-year-old Deputy Derek Kreider was in stable condition at a Warsaw hospital. The collision also injured 38-year-old Columbia City resident Eugene Myers. The Warsaw hospital’s emergency department released Myers after treatment. The crash happened yesterday afternoon at the intersection of U-S 30 and Center Street in Warsaw. State police say Myers failed to yield to Krieder’s squad car, which had its emergency lights and siren operating. Both the squad car and Myers’ vehicle were totaled.
