New Laws Take Effect Sunday

Hundreds of new state laws take effect Sunday. For example, the state tax on cigarettes will increase from 55-and-a-half cents to 99-and-a-half cents per pack. And more people will be required to wear seat belts, including people in pickup trucks and S-U-Vs and people riding in the back seats of cars.
