Grain Traps Silver Lake Farm Worker in Bin

Rescue workers saved the life of a Kosciusko County farm worker after he became trapped in a grain bin yesterday afternoon. It happened at a farm near Silver Lake, while workers were moving corn from the bin to a truck. Carlos Torres went into the bin to unclog an auger that moves the grain. The corn then sucked Torres in and trapped him. It took rescue workers a couple hours get Torres out by cutting a number of holes in the side of the grain bin. A helicopter flew Torres to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, where he was in fair condition at last report.
