State Investigating Possible New Botulism Case
A spokesman for the Indiana State Department of Health has confirmed that the department has learned of a new suspected botulism case. Risk Communication Director Erik Deckers tells The New Q101 that it will take about five days to confirm the case. Until then, the department's official position is that Indiana has only two cases that are definitely linked to an outbreak involving contaminated canned meat products. This morning, The New Q101 reported that Indiana State Police arranged an emergency relay of botulism medication from Chicago to Logansport Memorial Hospital last night.
