Democrats Change Property Tax Caps

Democrat revisions to Governor Mitch Daniels’ proposed property tax caps would base the caps on homeowner income, rather than on the value of the property. The Democrats also want to exclude all local government debt from the caps. A House committee approved the revised plan yesterday.
