Speaker: Economy Might Delay Property Tax Reform

The Democratic speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives says the state of the economy might make it impossible to fully implement the governor’s property tax relief plan on schedule. Patrick Bauer says he doesn’t think the state will be able to afford by next year to take over all local levies for school operating and transportation costs and child welfare expenses.
