State Senate Ties on Assessor Bill

The Indiana Senate voted 23-23 yesterday on a proposed amendment to shift all property tax assessment duties from townships to the county level. Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman could have broken the tie, but Senate leaders were confused about the procedure. It could come up for another vote today.
