Whitley Crash Kills Passenger, Seriously Injures Driver

One person died and another suffered serious injuries in a one-car crash northwest of Columbia City. Whitley County police say the driver lost control on snow and ice. The car went off the road, landed upside down in a creek and caught fire. At last report, the 18-year-old Fort Wayne woman who was driving was in serious condition at a Fort Wayne hospital with multiple internal injuries. A passenger in the car – whose identity police have not yet released – died at the scene.
