Columbia City to Consider Alarm Fines

The Columbia City City Council plans to introduce a new ordinance tonight that would fine businesses whose alarm systems turn in false alarms. City Clerk Rosie Coyle says the idea is to encourage businesses to repair malfunctioning alarm systems because of the the risks involved in responding to false alarms. Council is scheduled to meet at seven o’clock tonight.
