Wabash Derailment Leads to Explosion, Fire

Five Wabash County fire departments responded early this morning to the scene of a train derailment southwest of Wabash.
Hear Wabash County Sheriff Leroy Striker explain how the fire started:
Wabash County Sheriff Leroy Striker tells Q101 News that none of the 18 rail cars that overturned were carrying any hazardous chemicals. He says that’s why no evacuations were necessary. No injuries have been reported. The original derailment happened late yesterday afternoon on tracks along old U-S 24 near the Aleris plant.
