Huntington Fireplace Factory Might Close

A company that operates a fireplace factory in Huntington says a decline in new home construction might force it to close the plant. If that happens, 390 people could lose their jobs at the CFM Corporation plant. CFM says that it will likely either close the Huntington plant or lay off a bunch of workers sometime between June 15th and July 31st. Last June, CFM announced plans to add 200 jobs at the plant and to spend nearly four-and-a-half million dollars on equipment and infrastructure there. The Huntington factory has been in operation for more than 100 years.
