Huntington Police Search for Shooter

The Huntington Police Department (HPD) is asking for help from residents within a mile radius of the intersection of County Road l00N and State Road 9 who might have seen someone shooting or heard shots Wednesday evening, April 9, between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. According to a news release HPD issued this afternoon, a bullet struck an SUV Wednesday evening while it was stopped at the intersection of County Road 200N and State Road 9. No one was injured. Police believe the bullet ricocheted into the vehicle as an accidental result of target practice. Police say they do not believe there was an intentional act to damage property or harm someone, but they’d still like to find the person or persons who were shooting in the area.
