Possible Cancer-Causing Chemicals Underground in Rochester

In Rochester, a contractor who was digging a pit for a sewer pumping station exposed an underground pool of chemicals. Preliminary tests indicated that the chemicals included PCBs, which are classified as a probable cause of cancer. While the Environmental Protection Agency conducts more tests, about 100 area residents have been warned not to use water from their wells.
