Crash Disrupts Tri-Lakes Natural Gas Service
A crash near Schriner Lake north of Columbia City has left about 400 NIPSCO customers without natural gas service. Police say a pickup truck struck an above-ground NIPSCO regulator station on Old State Road 102 at about 8:30 last night. The crash did not hurt anyone, but it did so much damage to the NIPSCO equipment that the utility can’t say how long repairs will take. A NIPSCO spokesman tells My Q101 that after the gas starts flowing again, the utility will send service technicians to every affected customer to relight gas appliances.
