Gordy's Sub Pub Burns

A Warsaw restaurant suffered major damage in a fire over the weekend. "When the first fire engine arrived on the scene, they observed two dumpsters on fire," Warsaw Fire Chief Mike Rice told Q101 News. "One of the dumpsters was close to Gordy's Sub Pub and two sides of Gordy's was also on fire at the time when they arrived." Rice described the damage to Gordy's Sub Pub and Tokens and Tickets on Winona Avenue as "very extensive." He said the Chamber of Commerce building suffered smoke and water damage as well. Rice says the exact cause of the fire remains a mystery this morning. "We know that the fire originated in the dumpster next to the building and then extended into the building," Rice said, "but we do not know why the dumpster started at this time." One firefighter suffered a minor injury.
