Police Arrest Alleged Flood Looters

Police in Columbus have arrested more than a dozen people for allegedly of trying to steal appliances, lawnmowers, bicycles and other items from the lawns of flood victims. The residents had left the items out to dry.

Flood waters are still moving downstream toward the Wabash River. The latest towns to be threatened are Hazleton and East Mount Carmel on the White River and Historic New Harmony on the Wabash.

Governor Mitch Daniels says crop damage from flooding is worse than first thought, and that many Indiana farmers might not be able to save their crops this year.
