Monaco Coach to Close Elkhart County Plants, Move Some Work to Warsaw
Monaco Coach announced yesterday that it’s closing recreational vehicle plants in Wakarusa, Elkhart and Nappanee and that it’s moving some of their production to its plant in Warsaw. The company says the Elkhart County R-V plants will close in September. Those closings will cost about 14-hundred workers their jobs. Monaco says the economy and weak demand for R-V’s is forcing it to reduce production. And the company says it sees no signs of big improvements in the market any time soon.
