Residents Oppose Dairy Farm Expansion

Huntington County residents complained last night about a dairy farm’s plans to expand from three barns and 14-hundred cows to five barns and 25-hundred cows. State officials conducted a hearing last night regarding the expansion permit request from the new owners of the former DeGroot Dairy. The state ordered the farm’s previous owners to sell it, because of a history of environmental violations.
